Hi! I’m McKenna, the Founder and Director of Dogwood Media.

Growing up in rural Missouri, I learned quickly that I saw and experienced the world in a different way. While others saw a plain cornfield, I saw how the golden sun lit the stalks. How the texture of the roughage felt in my hands and the emotional tie I had to the land. I am an artist through and through. I see the world in a different way - light and emotion blend in a way I can only describe as magical. This is what I capture through my lens. Magical moments in the quiet and overlooked.  My photographs capture vignettes of these often overlooked moments and the emotions evoked. My video work documents human nature and connection. My designs focus on uplifting the human behind the business. Magic is all around us and my work grounds that into reality. 

I live and breathe my art. This is where I find my peace and feel most connected to the world around me. My life is inherently connected with my art and there would be no me if I didn’t have my hands on a camera, making jewelry, or knitting my blood, sweat, and tears into a pair of mittens.
